kautalya is an ancient political analyst. his work is arthashastra[ 450a.d. he says for a king/ruler/administrator good of the people is his good . not his selfish-good.he should feel happy when people are looked after to live so. his selfish happiness is of no account.how many of todays rulers can pass this litmus test???

even with the expansion of knowledge world we see dissatisfaction in many while they chose their field of sudy or work. this because they lack aptitude. what to .do / our ancients have given 4 conditions to skillfully sort this out why not try
1] adhikari who is fit to sudy or to do. give it to him . not to all and sundry 2] the scope/topic . know the scope ofhe topic or field. his subjective competency may be the focus.
3]sambandha the coherence of the person and the subject/field
4] the prayojanam the purpose with which it is persued.

loksabha elections in india is round the corner.the recent state and other elections have seen mixed results.the effeminate reactions towards cowards in the recent mubai attacks bespeaks of the of the apathy of the people towards their elected reps and the excutive powers like police,intelligence.the election commission should take some hard decissions to stem the rot.money power and muscle power getting back door entries to the citadels of administration should be tactfully avoided.only conscious citizens and ngos formulating public opinion in this regard canbring the obama change in india.if we mind we can.
